Bedourie is a small community
situated between Birdsville in the south and Boulia in the north. Bedourie
is about as far west as you can travel in Queensland before you reach the
Northern Territory. The town itself lies between the Simpson Desert
and the Channel Country.
The fabulous desert dunes and
spectacular scenery of the desert draws people from across the country and
the world. The amazing channel country to the east of the township allow you
view this spectacular labyrinth of interconnecting channels and inland
flowing rivers that make their way through the desert to reach Lake Eyre.
These channels and the wild life and agriculture they support are one of the
great wonders of the world are really a must see on your outback adventures.

Bedourie is a remote location,
however, you will find ample facilities while travelling in this part of the
world. Our great
aquatic centre is a
drawcard offering the therapeutic natural spa water from flowing directly
from the Great Artesian Basin. These spas attract visitors from across
the globe and are fantastic for relieving the aches and pains that you might
experience when travelling the outback track. With a 25 metre pool this is a
wonderful stopover during your travels.
Our small town offers plenty
of other facilities for visitors, including fuel, unleaded and diesel,
limited mechanical repairs, groceries and drinks to replenish your eskies
before heading off again in the outback. There are a couple of camping
areas and town caravan park in Bedourie if a night in a motel is not what
you are looking for. But whatever your choice of accommodation, don't
miss the opportunity for a great counter meal or in our dining room.
